Texas on the Potomac’s Molly Harbarger and Sarah Tung noticed something strange about Rep. Francisco “Quico” Canseco, R-San Antonio, earlier this week. At a press conference on the Texas wildfires, Canseco was in fine form, gesticulating and speaking passionately about the issue. But at a hearing later this same day, he was wearing a neck brace.
Valentina Weis, Canseco's spokeswoman, said the congressman was not injured between Capitol Hill events. Canseco had minor neck surgery about two weeks ago and has had to wear the brace ever since. The congressman takes the brace off periodically, but still needs to wear the support, Weis said.
